Reading Incentives

Beary Special Readers

Pre-K and Kindergarten students are encouraged to read 100 books by the end of the school year. For every 25 books read, students will be recognized on the Morning Announcements, receive a certificate, and have their picture posted on the Reading Wall of Fame.

Accelerated Reader

All students are encouraged to read books and take AR tests throughout the school year. At MES, we have two Accelerated Reading Goals.

• Individual (Each student, Grades K-5) will read and take AR tests. At the end of each quarter, students will receive a prize and have their picture posted on the AR Wall. 
• School Wide (All students, Grades Pre-K through 5)  will participate in a school wide AR Celebration each semester.
